More Info
Khorasan (also known as Kamut) is an ancient grain that has been re-discovered in recent years. It is more easily digested and assimilated than regular wheat grain so, much like spelt, some people with wheat sensitivities can tolerate it, however, it does still contain gluten. It is higher in protein than wheat grain, contains zinc, magnesium, B vitamins, Vitamin E, protein, amino acids and essential fatty acids. Khorasan flour has a buttery-rich nutty flavour and smooth texture.
How to use
Organic Unbleached White Khorasan Flour is very versatile and can be used in place of regular wheat flour for baking breads, cookies, pasta, cakes, pancakes and muffins. The high protein content in kamut helpss to produce breads with excellent volume and texture. You can substitute Khorasan flour in any recipe that requires flour. More water is required when making bread.
Growing & Processing
Organic Unbleached White Khorasan Flour is produced by milling the whole khorasan grain into fine powder and removing the bran to produce a beautiful light golden colour and textured flour.
